Exuding ample flavour, this wine is well suited to all sorts of venison meals, oxtail, Moroccan tagine, and flavourful cheeses such as Boerenkaas, Gruyere, Munster and Pecorino which mingle beautifully with its medium-bodied, gentle elegance with silky tannins and upfront sweet dark fruit.
The combination of the several vineyards from which the grapes were gathered gives this wine its distinct personality. The grapes were chosen from a variety of low-yield vineyards planted in deep, dark red soils between 1985 and 1990. The vines were all grafted onto Phylloxera-resistant rootstocks and trellised using a variety of trellising strategies. Pest and disease control were carried out in accordance with IPW guidelines of South Africa.
