Why are Bees Important?

Bees may be tiny, but they make a huge difference! Why? Because bees are the world’s most important pollinators of food crops.

In fact, global estimates claim that one third of the food we consume every day relies on pollination by bees as well as other insects, birds and bats. And pollination is crucial to the development of many of our vegetables, fruits and other crops that livestock feed on.

Bees also produce honey, which has amazing medicinal properties because of the fact that it is so rich in energy.

Did you know that bee populations around the world are in a state of decline because of the many threats they face from the loss of habitat due to pesticides? Because of the important role that bees play in maintaining our ecosystems and the world around us, we need to do everything we can now to save bees.

One of the easiest ways to do that is to plant bee-friendly plants in your garden, on your balcony or on your windowsill. A little bit of love and effort goes a long way!
