Product Information
Batch harvesting allows the wine to have a variety of building blocks and complexity. The water-bending process for barrels prepares the wood for toasting in such a manner that the mouthfeel of the wine is softer and the aftertaste is more delicate.
The vineyard blocks for Chardonnay are planted on a variety of slopes and aspects. This permits the winemaker to choose fruit from up to 15 different sites at the time of harvest. Small batches of hand-picked grapes are kept separate and vinified separately. In 225 litre water bent French oak barrels, fermentation takes place. While the challenges of each new vintage present themselves in a variety of ways, Glen Carlou maintains their high standard as a premium chardonnay producer.
