A stunning adaptation of this Sicilian grape to the hot Wellington climate, this wine is bright and juicy with notes of vanilla and cherry, and loads of crisp acidity and savoury tannins. A great match with heart red meat dishes, as well as vegetable dishes with olives and capers.
A dark Italian cultivar, the nero d' avola, was used in this rich and fruit-forward wine with grippy tannins and a lingering finish. Ruby red with a purple tinge, the wine boasts fresh berry aromas along with violets, lavender, and prunes on the nose.
