No Carb Cheese
And Ham Sarmies

    Curb those mid-afternoon cravings without leaning on your sugar crutch thanks to this quick-to-prepare snack.

  • Ingredients:

    350 g halloumi cheese
    Olive oil
    ½ tsp. (2,5 ml) paprika

    Salt and pepper
    2 tbsp. (30 ml) chopped parsley
    70 g Parma ham

    20 g pea shoots or wild rocket
    Handful of cherry tomatoes; sliced in half

  • Method:

    1. Slice the halloumi cheese into 12 x 1 cm thick slices and place into a bowl.
    2. Drizzle with a little olive oil and season with paprika, salt and pepper, and chopped parsley. Toss lightly to coat.
    3. Heat a pan until hot and fry cheese slices until golden brown and crispy on both sides.
    4. To assemble, take one slice of fried halloumi cheese and top with a little Parma ham, a couple of pea shoots and a few cherry tomato halves.
    5. Sandwich together with another slice of fried halloumi cheese and serve immediately.
