Brie & Strawberry Braai Bread

Description

This delicious take on braai bread will instantly elevate your feast. It’s the same cheesy braai side you’ve come to love with a strawberry twist.

Directions

1.    Cut the bread diagonally across to form diamond shapes, making sure not to cut all the way down to the base.

2.    Arrange Brie slices and strawberries between cuts.

3.    Drizzle with melted butter, cover with grated mozzarella and season.

4.    Place in a 20 cm flat-based potjie pot and cover with the lid. 

5.    Place directly onto the coals in your braai, and top with medium-heat coals (ash in colour). 

6.    Bake for 15–20 minutes or until all the cheese has melted and the bread is warmed through and toasted at the edges. Serve immediately. 

Ingredients

• 1 round potbrood loaf

• 3 rounds Il de France Brie or blue moulded Brie; sliced

• 1 cup fresh strawberries; diced

• ¼ cup (60 ml) melted butter

• ½ cup (125 g) white mozzarella; grated

• Salt & black pepper
