Pork Rib-Eye with Mustard Mushrooms

Description

Master Zola Nene’s recipe for Pork Rib-Eye with Mustard Mushrooms and you’ll enjoy unbelievable flavour every time. Choose our Farmstead Pork cuts, they're locally sourced and versatile. 

Directions

1. Season the pork with salt, pepper and a sprinkle of paprika. Drizzle with olive oil then sear in a hot pan until browned on all sides. 

2. Place into a preheated 200 °C oven for 15 – 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and set aside to rest. 

3. Into the same pan, add garlic and mushrooms and sauté until mushrooms are browned. 

4. Add grain mustard and cream, season with salt and pepper then simmer for a few minutes and stir in the chopped herbs.

5. For the sautéed greens, pour boiling water over the broccoli to cover then set aside for five minutes. 

6. In a pan heat olive oil then add ginger, garlic and chilli flakes, now sauté for a few seconds. Drain the broccoli then toss into the pan, sauté for a few minutes.

7. Slice pork and serve topped with mushrooms and greens on the side.

 

Ingredients

  • 2 Farmstead Pork Rib-Eye Steaks
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • Olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove; minced
  • 1 punnet exotic mushrooms; sliced
  • 1 tbsp. wholegrain mustard
  • 125 ml cream
  • 2 tbsp. chives/parsley; finely chopped

 

For the Sautéed Greens: 

  • 1 bag tenderstem broccoli/fine beans 
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil 
  • 1 thumb size piece of ginger; cut into matchsticks 
  • 1 garlic clove; sliced 
  • Pinch of chilli flakes 
  • Salt and pepper to taste
