RAISE A GLASS OF THE BEST CHAMPAGNE OR SPARKLING WINE

Did you know that the primary difference between Champagne and other sparkling wines is simply that the former comes from the French region of Champagne? There are a few methods used in producing sparkling wines. In South Africa, most use Méthode Cap Classique, which means it’s been produced using the traditional French method of fermenting the wine in the bottle, using added yeast and sugar. Another popular method is by carbonating the wine.

At Checkers, we’re proud to stock some exquisite authentic French Champagnes, such as Charles de Cazanove and Moët & Chandon, as well as a wide range of local gems including Graham Beck, Krone Borealis and Pongrácz. Take a look at what else we have in-store for you.
