Usage Instructions

Direct cooking method: For flat meats such as steaks, burgers, chops and boneless chicken breasts. Food must be turned half-way through cooking to expose both sides to the heat. Step 1: Open all vents on the grill. Spread charcoal briquettes in a single layer on charcoal grate, and then form into a pyramid-shaped pile. Ignite charcoal. Leave the lid off and let coals burn for 25-30 minutes or until they are completely grey. Step 2: Using long handle tongs, spread coals in a single layer for cooking. Replace the cooking grate. Always cook food with LID ON and all vents open.

Indirect cooking method: For whole chicken, roasts, turkeys, whole fish or food needing more than 25 minutes of cooking time. Step 1: Open all vents on the grill. Place equal amounts of charcoal briquettes on each side of the charcoal grate using rails or charcoal bins. Ignite charcoal. Leave the lid off, and let coals burn for 25-30 minutes or until they are completely grey Step 2: Centre a drip pan between coals. Replace cooking grate. Place food on cooking grate above the drip pan. Always cook with LID ON and all vents open. Add briquettes as needed to maintain heat.
