Usage Instructions | Always place one foot on top of front wheel screws and push gently with the other. The second foot may be placed on the board once you have balance. Never place feet at the back of the board only. Stopping - there are several ways to stop your skateboard all requiring practice. Foot braking - the easiest way is to take off your back foot and drag it on the ground. It takes some practice, remember all your weight is basically on your front leg, and you are just dragging your back foot on the ground to slow down. Heel drag - this takes some practice, but it's a common way to stop with people who have been skating a while. Basically, you put the heel of your back foot so that it is sticking off of the back of your skateboard, and lean back so that the front of your board comes up into the air. Step down on your heel, but make sure that the front half of your foot is still on the board. Your heel should drag a short ways, and you should stop. This will take practice-take care as you may fall and launch the board out in front of you a few times while you learn. Power slide - power slides are popular in video games, but they are actually fairly advanced and are only suitable for experienced skateboarders!! Only ride where it is legal to do so - do not skateboard at night - never be towed or pulled - use in an open area - do not leave skateboard in damp areas, as this will cause the skateboard to warp. |
