Fiery Tandoori Chicken

Description

Nothing compares to the incredible flavour of fiery tandoori chicken on the coals – especially with our Ready to Braai Whole Deboned Chicken.

Directions

1. Wipe sandwich grid with vegetable oil, prepare fire. 

2. Sauté onion, chilli and spices until soft and fragrant, set aside to cool. 

3. Mix spices, yoghurt, lemon juice, garlic and ginger paste, and salt together. 

4. Coat chicken in the marinade, cover and chill for a couple of hours.  

5. Remove excess marinade, and place chicken on the sandwich grid.  

6. Flip the chicken until evenly cooked, heated and charred through. 

7. Toast naan on the braai to char slightly, about 2-3 minutes, brush with butter and serve. 

8. Serve fiery hot chicken with naan and sambals. 

Ingredients

•    ¼ cup (60 ml) vegetable oil

•    1 onion; finely chopped

•    1 chilli; finely chopped

•    2 tsp. (10 ml) ground coriander

•    1 tbsp. (15 ml) ground cumin

•    2 tsp. (10 ml) ground turmeric

•    2 tsp. (10 ml) cayenne pepper

•    2 tbsp (30 ml) garam masala

•    1 tbsp. (15 ml) paprika

•    ½ cup (125 ml) plain yoghurt 

•    Juice of ½ lemon 

•    2 tsp. (15 ml) Checkers Crushed Garlic and Ginger 

•    1 tsp. (5 ml) salt

•    1 Ready to Braai Whole Deboned Chicken

•    2 naan breads

•    Butter

•    Salt and milled pepper
